"When you change the way you see, everything which you see changes."
- SADGURU RAMESH JI
We all have experienced that whenever our mindis filled with negative thoughts or when we undergo tension or stress;our face contracts, our eyes shrink, the forehead gets filled with wrinkles and we involuntarily start frowning. On the contrary, when we are happy; our forehead smoothens, eyes normalizeand as our face relaxes, we effortlesslysmile. This showsthat negative feelings lead to contraction, and positive feelingsresult in expansion and relaxation of our facial muscles and expressions.
The way our feelings directly influence ourfacial expressions; our expressions too, holdthe same power over our feelings and by consciously regulating the contraction and expansion of our facial muscles we can actually change the way we feel.In fact, it is scientifically proven that our physical act of smiling releasesa chemical named endorphin- the happiness hormone, in our system which not only helps minimizepain and stress, but alsomaximizeshappiness. So, the next time we encounter any negative feelings or thoughts; all we have to do is consciously shift our attention from our thoughts to our expressions, relax our facial muscles, gently break into a smile, unleash the endorphins and watch allnegativity magically dissolve and fade away.
